The Beagle gets along very well with other animals and with children too. They prefer the company of individuals having to be alone. Also, if you leave them alone for long they start to howl; they will be saddened and even have destructive and inappropriate behaviors.

Beagles are very active and have an enormous curiosity about things, but at the same time, they are quite affectionate and love to receive the same love from their owners.

How Big Do Beagles Get?

People often wonder how much their Beagle can grow. The answer can be challenging to obtain when you have a Beagle puppy in front of you since you cannot determine the size it will reach, and therefore you must wait until it grows a little more.

This type of dog has two different sizes:

  • 13-inch Beagle: These dogs weigh around 22 lb to 30 lb. However, Beagles in this class do not grow more than 13 inches.
  • 15-inch Beagle: These dogs weigh at least 34 lb to 35 lb. Unlike 13-inch Beagles, this type of Beagle is 14 inches to 15 inches tall.

That is, some Beagles are 30 cm or less and weigh over 22 lb. Instead, there are other Beagles of different sizes that measure between 11 inches and 15 inches, and their weight varies from around 33 lb to 44 lb.

It has always been controversial to determine the size of a Beagle dog because its body varies depending on the characteristics of each one (age, sex, development, etc.). That is why they are classified into small, medium and large dogs.

Classification

  • Big dogs: Large Beagles are those that are over 22 inches.
  • Medium dogs: Medium Beagles are recognized when they are 18 inches to 22 inches in total.
  • Small dogs: Small Beagles are those that are less than 6 inches to 17 inches.

We have mentioned before that Beagles vary from 13 inches to 15 inches each, considering them small dogs. Even both sizes of Beagles can be born from the same litter, but if you want a specific dog size, you have to wait until the puppies are at least nine months old. In that period, the size range that the puppy will have can be determined.

There are various mixes of Beagles with other dogs, among which we can mention:
